Defacing the heritage

Share this post :

Bidar, in Karnataka is just about 130 kms from Hyderabad, is the only decent place for a day trip from Hyderabad which is not connected with Temples. I am not averse to temples. But the temples in the state of Andhra Pradesh are den of thieves much more commercial than most shopping malls.

Yesterday I drove down to Bidar for a day trip. I have spent lot of weekends in Bidar at my friend's home prior to 1994. But this was the first time I actually I roamed around in Bidar, visiting some historical monuments. Bidar was the seat of Bahamani Kings and they have left behind great legacy of architectures and monuments. Unfortunately, all of them are in pitiable states.

I am posting just one Photograph for now to show how the protected monuments are defaced, and the people, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) , which is care taker of these monuments have done nothing to improve the state of these monuments of great importance.

For those not from India or can not read the blasphemy written on these walls in the language spoke in Bidar, Kannada, is slogan of Congress Party, to elect some stupid moron. And this moron, who is going to representative has no sense of history. By the way the guy who has written the slogan on these walls is such a pathetic fellow, he can not even spell the words correctly.

This tomb of Bahamani Rulers can be seen at Ashtur few kms away from Bidar. The place has become a cricket ground for local youth.
