Roadayana, the sorry state of Indian roads

Hello there...

The rainy season, monsoon has finally started in Hyderabad. And the dreaded road jams too.

The strange thing about Hyderabad road engineering, is that there are no road side gutters to channel the rain water. Seemingly innocent showers have so much power embedded in them that, few showers, Hyderabad roads are as good as gone.

May be there is a nexus between the Contractors and Road Works Department. To perpetuate the work and get money out of the public funds. Otherwise it is very hard to believe that the newly laid roads don't even last even one year.

When it rains, the potholes becomes the puddles and a nightmare to drive, as you can not gauge the depth of the pothole and hence a thud.

Last few weeks I am suffering severe back ache and neck pain due to the bad roads I have to commute. When I went to doctor, all he could say is reduce driving. How the hell I am going to reach office. Some of my works can not be done remotely. I need to be present in  the office to do those.

Its a wonder how people have included Hyderabad and some other cities of India as some of the most happening and world class cities to live in.
