Today it was extremely hot. Rama navami. A festival dedicated Lord Rama. Traditionally thin, spiced butter milk and sherbat, sweet juice / lemonade is served to every one. In Srinivaspur, in Kolar District of Karnataka where I had part of my childhood stay, there was a Rama Temple. Probably still exists. On the Rama navami day, in the temple grounds, town people and villagers from nearby vilagers congregate for special festivites or fair and with them they bring barrels and barrels of butter milk and lemonades. You can have as much you can drink.

I do not know if today the same culture and traditions are still followed or not. Today Rama has become a political tool polarising the society.
